Hospice

Hospice care

Care for people with terminal illness, when the main goal of treatment is no longer to cure the illness.

Back to services

What it is

Hospice care supports the person and their family at a stage where the focus shifts from curative treatment toward wellbeing, pain relief and dignity.

It can be provided at home, in specialized centers, in nursing facilities or elsewhere, depending on the person condition and on eligibility criteria.

This is a hard conversation to start. If you came here looking for information, you can write to us and talk with no commitment at all.

What it focuses on

For the person

  • Comfort and wellbeing at all times
  • Pain and symptom control
  • Dignity throughout the process

For the family

  • Emotional and spiritual support
  • Support for those who provide care
  • Guidance through the process

When it is usually considered

  • When the medical team says curative treatment is no longer the main goal.
  • When the family priority becomes comfort and pain relief.
  • When the family needs support to provide care at home.

What is worth knowing

  • Eligibility is determined by the medical team and the corresponding program.
  • It can be provided in different settings, depending on each person situation.
  • Asking and getting informed does not imply any decision or commitment.

Eligibility and final coverage are determined by the plan, the program or the authorized provider, never by Community Wellness Group.

Not sure which one your family needs

That is completely normal. Write to us, tell us the situation, and we will tell you what options exist for your case. And also which ones do not apply.
